The History of SEO - The People and Places in Time

Welcome to The History of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). History is about people, places, and time. Our mission here, is to introduce you to the pioneers, practitioners, and the timeline surrounding their activity in the world of search engine optimization. We have a series of articles and interviews with industry pioneers that we are sure you will enjoy. There are more interviews on their way. Let us know if there is someone that needs to be interviewed that isn't here. Secondly, we can tell you first hand, that there are a lot of nice people in the SEO community and they are fun to work and party with.

Backing up in time, near as we can tell SEO got started around 1995. We are diligently assembling a fact checked timeline that will make this easier to see but, in the mean time, a point to note is that this industry is young. During that time, there have been a few pinnacle points worth illuminating, which we will. The road ahead is fast moving and full of passing lanes, road signs, and pot holes. If we do our job right, perhaps this can serve as a road map to help you understand the people behind the SEO industry.
